Digital Shoreditch is the festival celebrating the outstanding creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent of East London and Tech City. The festival will run from May 21st to June 1st 2012 and will be highlighting the thriving digital and tech talent from Clerkenwell to Stratford, Old Street to Bethnal Green and Dalston to the City and beyond.

Our collective ambition for 2012 is to deliver London’s greatest digital and creative tech festival ever. Our vision is to be as significant as South By South West within four years and be recognised as one of the world’s premier events for showcasing the most talented companies and individuals.

The first festival took place on the 3^rd-7th May 2011. 5 days, 50 events, 179 contributors, 2000+ attendees.

We had a riot taking over Shoreditch and turning it into a digital playground with late-night parties, open houses, workshops, interactive artworks and installations, and augmented reality games. The activity culminated in one day Summit and party, followed by a family exhibition day. Click here to see the full list of events.

Many of the open houses and headline events sold out, sparking national press coverage including the New Scientist, The Telegraph, Campaign, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and feature on Time Out London’s homepage and hotlist. We can’t wait til next time, congratulations to everyone that took part!

Digital Shoreditch is about more than the festival series alone.  The emphasis is on informally nurturing an extensive and exciting digital community. We host monthly meetups, workshops, news updates, and soon a virtual map (coming soon!) The aim is to facilitate an enormous spectrum of individuals and companies to connect and exchange ideas, generate a greater openness within digital space, and facilitate innovators from all walks of life to contribute to a flourishing creative society. We will also be mapping and showcasing outstanding companies and projects in the local community; get in touch if you have something exciting to shout about or want to become part of our collective!

Anyone can be involved, there are no limits.

Where is it?

The events mainly happen in and around vibrant Shoreditch, Clerkenwell and Brick Lane. As the playground of the largest concentration of digital creatives in Europe, this is the ideal place to explore and interact with the latest in digital innovation. Whether you are interested in rocking out at digital parties or developing skills through educational presentations, we will be planning something to cater for all interests and tastes! Outside the area but want to get involved or host an event? Shoreditch is a state of mind- we can make it work.
